Welcome to the VABER Hydraulic Hand Pump Safety Handbook! Hydraulic hand pumps are a convenient and portable source of hydraulic power. Proper usage is essential for safety and optimal performance. Here are key safety tips and operational guidelines to follow:
General Operating Guidelines
- Stability: Ensure the pump is stable during operation. This helps prevent accidents and enhances performance.
- Handle Operation:
- Operate the pump handle at a moderate speed for best results.
- If the handle becomes hard to push due to high pressure, use short strokes.
- Maximum leverage is achieved in the last 5 degrees of the stroke.
- Handle Extensions: Avoid adding extensions to the pump handle. This can be dangerous and is not recommended.
Safety Precautions
- Release Valve: Close the release valve only finger-tight. Using tools can damage the valve and lead to pump malfunction.
- Kickback Awareness: Be aware that the pump handle can “kick back.” Always position your body to the side of the pump, away from the line of force of the handle.
- Operating Position: Many hand pumps can be used both horizontally and vertically. However, if using in a vertical position, ensure the hose end is pointing downwards to avoid pumping air instead of oil. Always refer to the pump instruction sheet for the correct operating position.
At VABER, we believe in combining safety with efficiency. Following these tips will help ensure safe and effective operation of hydraulic hand pumps. Always prioritize safety and refer to manufacturer instructions for specific operational guidelines.
